The end of Loki Season 1 teased a huge villain: Kang The Conqueror. Ending in a huge mess. The timelines are all messed up. Leaving the heroes helpless and confused.
I think it is no secret that after the finale of Loki, the other installations of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (except for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 – but that can be a whole different article) were a little bit of a letdown.
Fans were expecting something big to happen. With the potential of a multiverse, the characters could face something far more dangerous than Thanos. It just doesn’t feel like it so far. But maybe that’ll change?
With Loki Season 2, we can finally catch up where we left off. Loki (Tom Hiddleston) gets sent back to the past. We are back in the TVA and although we were told that it’s not possible to see past or future in that establishment – Loki will prove us wrong. He gets sent back and forth. Proving that something must be going very wrong. Also realizing that each and every worker at the TVA seems to have come through some sort of memory loss at some point in their lives.
Season 2 also brings back some Fan Favorites. Loki is, of course, front and center as we love to see it. Someone else I enjoy seeing him interact with is his friend Mobius (Owen Wilson). Hiddleston and Wilson’s on-screen dynamic is something I cannot get enough of. Mobius and Loki are a perfect match in every possible way and I hope the writers listened to their fans and gave that duo a few more fun episodes together.
After all, we already saw in the premiere of Season 2 how Mobius saved Loki from getting dragged back and forth through time. Basically saving the god’s life. Proving that their relationship in this show is depicted as something truly special.
Another fun addition in the show is Oscar Winning actor Ke Huy Quan as O.B.

Ke Huy Quan as “Ouroboros” or “O.B” – all rights reserved to Marvel – Disney.
His role is truly exciting in a way, that he is the only one at the TVA who still remembers everything that happened. Past and Present. We are excited to see where this may take us. For me he was truly the highlight of the episode. A fun, charismatic and lovely character who fits perfectly well in this universe.
Sylvie (Sophia di Martino) is also teased to make a return. The Loki Variant escaped as well, after she killed a variant of Kang, despite his warning that if she’d choose to do that the world might face huge consequences.
We will be patiently waiting for the following episodes to drop and see how each and every mystery gets puzzled together.
Episode 1 already made us question why so many characters in the TVA couldnt remember their past. We still need to see how much of a villain Kang can truly be. What is Sylvie up to? Overall the premiere of Season 2 seems promising. It is definitely made for Fans of the Marvel Universe as well as simply fans of the character Loki. It feels very much like its own installation and I think this world needs its own individual story, because we are a little tired of movie installations whose only use feels like a tease for a bigger superhero blockbuster.
With Loki, they’re proving that these stories already gained such a huge fanbase by telling stories with heart and fun. Lets hope the season remains as good as it started out to be.
