The anticipation is building up as the 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival gears up for its grand unveiling from May 14th to May 25th, 2024. Today we finally got to know what films to expect in May and it looks promising. The Festival will be under the artistic leadership of Iris Knobloch and Thierry Frémaux as the Festivals General Delegate for Artistic Direction.
At the forefront of this year’s festival stands no other than Greta Gerwig, acclaimed actress and filmmaker, serving as the President of the Jury, a position that carries the prestigious responsibility of selecting the recipient of the coveted Palme d’Or for the best film of the festival.
Kicking off the festivities is Quentin Dupieux’s “Le deuxième acte” (The Second Act). Joining the lineup are George Miller‘s highly anticipated post-apocalyptic epic “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga“, starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Kevin Costner’s captivating Western installment “Horizon: An American Saga,” both will be showcased out of competition. George Lucas is this years candidate for the honorary price.
